II- AFL Humanitarian and Community Involvement
II-1 AFL Bicycle Ambulance Project
The
Bicycle Ambulance Project provides necessary medical transportation
to those living in remote rural communities in Africa.
Created by Niki Dun, a Canadian student from the Emily
Carr Institute in Vancouver, and now co-founder and co-CEO
of "Design for Development," the bike ambulance provides
a realistic solution to those in need of medical attention
in areas where walking and/or biking is the primary source
of transportation. AFL is currently speaking with local
manufacturers to build 50 bike ambulances that will then
be shipped overseas to villages in need. The bike ambulances
are affordable, easy to maintain and provide a faster
means of emergency transportation. This bike saves lives!
On a similar project, AFL has brought happiness to more
than 75 children, teenagers and adults around the world
in 2006. It is with you that we can continue to distribute
bicycles and bring happiness to many people.
II-2 Medical Aid
AFL is sending a medical doctor, Moss Mbaya, on
a humanitarian medical mission to Africa. Dr Mbaya is
going to practice within "Médecins sans frontières".
II-3 Children Protection
AFL is supporting the Ottawa Police Association for its
Missing Children Program Fund and for the fight against
Children Sexual Abuse.
At this event, AFL will be featuread at the Ottawa Police
Magazine next issue.
